Manuel X. Lozano joined Becht Engineering in January 2010 with over 40 years of experience in construction with specific focus on Critical Lift Planning and Execution. During his long-term career with Zachry Construction Corporation and other major EPC firms, Mr. Lozano planned and supervised Heavy Lifts on projects including petrochemical plants, power plants, cement plants and various other greenfield and brownfield projects. Since joining Becht Engineering, Mr. Lozano has successfully supervised numerous Super Lifts for various Oil & Gas Owner Organizations utilizing Super Cranes up to 5000 metric tons and Gantry Cranes up to 2000 metric tons. Throughout his career, Mr. Lozano has maintained an enviable Safety record and has been recognized for his efforts via a national Safety award.
One of Manuel’s notable accomplishments as a Heavy Lift Specialist for Becht was the successful replacement of a two stage Acid Settler in an HF Acid Unit. Manuel planned and supervised the erection of the 1500T crane in an extremely tight area where the crane boom had to be assembled over a live pipe rack. The job was completed without incident and the client saved several million dollars by avoiding an early shut down to remove the pipe rack.
